Just something I whipped up last night in Photoshop to commemorate Batch 0301; what I consider to be my first real homebrewing “project”. I don’t know if I’ll get in the habit of creating labels for all of my brews. But this one is just . . . . special.
Named in for Hubertus Bigend (This is a big Belgian beer at 8.5% after all) from William Gibson‘s recently completed “Blue Ant” Trilogy. I was going to call this ‘Hercule Poirot’, but after finishing Zero History, I was compelled to rechristen it. I was fortunate to meet Mr. Gibson at the signing of the second book in the series and hoodwinked him into signing an advanced copy of the unwritten third book. Actually, it was a blank journal to serve as a placeholder on the bookshelf. I didn’t get to D.C. when he was signing copies of Zero History. I don’t know if I’ll ever get over that. 😉
If this turns out well, it may be my first “keeper” recipe and I’ll brew it every year on my birthday; or Hubertus’ (The 7th of June).
Now, if there were a way to send a few bottles of this to Mr. Gibson and get his take on it. I wonder if he’d approve.
