Well, okay. Not the phone books. (Name that movie!) I have been anxiously awaiting a shipment from Canada and it (most of it, anyways) arrived today. What on Earth could these be? Let’s take a closer look.
Hmmmm, how about we take off the packing paper?
I am now the proud owner of two ten-gallon soda kegs. Well, the tops are still in transit as they were shipped separately. So I’m the owner of two ten-gallon soda kegs without tops. These were offered up in the Homebrewtalk.com forums and I snapped them up. They need new liquid out posts. I’ll need to cap the missing pressure relief valves, and figure out what size gaskets they take. However, I’m not going to serve from them. These will be fermenters or bulk aging tanks, which don’t require that much pressure.
Most importantly, check out the wicked-awesome logo!
They were bought in an auction from a drive-in theater that served up their own soda. I’ll have to look at them more closely to see if I can get a date for them.
I also recently bought a Sanke keg to turn into a Keggle, so am liquidating my old kettle, glass carboy (since the A&W kegs will replace that) and a unique 5 gallon “PubKeg” Sixtel I stumbled upon. Anyone interested should click here.
